She woke up to the smell of burning…
Her stomach churned
Her heart skipped a beat.
She sensed the cacophony below
Shuffling feet.
Another burnt breakfast in bed.
She loved birthdays.
She loved him.
Smiling she snuggled back into bed and pretended to be asleep.
